Not sure if you returned recently, but it is vastly different and Pike Road is no longer considered “way out there.” We moved here in the early ‘90’s for peace and quiet and no traffic. That no longer exists. The newest addition is a Publix grocery store on the corner at Vaughn & Pike Road. 

@jojo we built our little house in ’90, then I got transferred summer of ’92.  We came back through the area in 2019 and we nearly didn’t recognize it!  We really enjoyed the short time we were there, though.  You guys should come to one of the Runaway rally’s sometime!

@tomg We will when we can. We still work so have to plan around PTO. We have been getting together with the TearJerkers the last couple of years and planning our own week-long getaways. Doesn’t leave much time for anything else! There is a pretty active TearJerkers group in your area. Check them out if you haven’t already:  https://forum.tearjerkers.net/

Ironic you should mention this… some good friends of ours (Ed and Nancy Ferguson…   who chronicle their Runaway travels with their youtube channel “Hangin with Herky”) went to a TJ rally in Indiana recently.  Looked so much fun we researched and signed up!  We are actually going to a rally at Kings Mountain State Park in January.  It’s the other side of the state from us (2.5 hours) but a really great park and that’s my birthday weekend.   Look forward to meeting that group.  We both still work, too, so I understand about PTO! 

@tomg We will be attending Kings Mtn., too. It will be our first with this chapter.

Welcome! I’ll have to check out tearjerkers I’ve heard more and more about it lately.
