I installed a standard awning rail to our Rouser. Until my wife can decide on a vintage style awning color, I made a simple tarp awning and used “tarp trackers”. Have made several for my teardrops in the past. I used nylon bushings same diameter of the inside of the awning rail, paracord and a stainless steel washer. Insert the bushing through the tarp grommet and slide into the awning rail. If you have the roof top rails, you could probably modify the tarp to fasten to the rails.
Hi, Larry! That looks so good. How did you attach the awning rail? I didn’t know that was something one could purchase. Also, how do you stop the tarp trackers from sliding out (for example, if the wind is coming from the sides)?
Grace, I purchased my Keder awning rail from Amazon. Installation : 1. Used high strength 3M VHB tape. 2. Attach awning rail and Drill and install S/S pan head screws. 3. seal with Dicor rv caulk 4. Once caulk cured, apply Elastibond rv tape to counter seal. Have used this technique on last two teardrops and a fiberglass Casita trailer with no issues. To stop movement of the trackers I install s/s steel eye bolt and nut. The nut has to fit into the awning rail space. The “eye” bolt can be tied to the tracker ends.
