I’m curious if anyone has used an ice maker while camping like the one shown below (from Best Buy, but there a many dozens more of basically the same product on Amazon). These are obviously intended for use inside homes with moderate ambient air temperatures. How does it do in really warm weather? If you pull into camp and start it up, does it keep up with demand? Or if you let it make a few batches before using the ice, do you let the ice stay in the collection bin or does the ice melt too fast?

We have a Frigidaire brand. Only used it once so far on our Colorado trip and it worked great. It sat out on the fender of our camper under the awning. Granted it never got above 80 deg during the day.

We got it because on our river trip in June here in Texas, a friend of ours had one it it performed very well with high summer Texas temps.
